We soon realized we were VERY hungry so Jerry left it up to me to make a decision for dinner. I of course chose the Red Parka Pub! We started out with their salad bar and we both had the Steak Marinade! It was delicious! I will have this again in the future. We ended with the brownie sundae which was also amazing! At this point Jerry realized that he needed his winter coat, but, he had left it at home. We drove to the LL Bean outlet, but, they were already closed. So, we decided to head there in the morning and that we should call it a night.
On Saturday we woke up to this view:
We then went to the Blueberry Muffin for breakfast. It was delicious as usual, but, very slow because it was busy! We then started our trek down the strip in North Conway center. Our first stop was the Bavarian Chocolate Haus!
It was around 12:30 and we needed to get something for lunch before we went on the Conway Scenic Railroad. We stumbled upon Boston Brother's Pizzeria and boy was it delish! We quickly walked down to the train depot where we went to the will call window to pick up our First Class tickets!
We waited outside for a bit for the train to come in:
We hopped on board and waited for the train to depart.
We were on our way to Conway! Once we were at the Conway depot, the engine did a run around. It unhooked from the front car, came down the track and hooked on to our car which had been the caboose. We were able to get off of the train so we could watch the process. It was interesting!
Now, we were on our way back to the North Conway depot where we began. It was a nice ride and we got to learn a little bit of history about the first class car as well as the area. We poked around at the depot for a bit:
We walked back down to where we were parked and headed to Settler's Green Outlets. After we did some shopping we went to the scenic lookout in the area to get some pictures before dinner. You can see Mt. Washington and the observatory up here there thanks to the zoom lens!
Tonight we decided to try a new place for dinner. I had heard a lot of good things about Moat Mountain Smokehouse, so that's where we went! We of course started off with sampling their brews!
I ended up really liking the Blueberry Brew and I ordered a glass. Jerry wasn't a fan of any, so, he went with Coors Light!
We both shared the buffalo tenders for an appetizer, and boy, were they SPICY! I ordered the plain burger and Jerry ordered the sliders. My burger was delicious, but, Jerry's sliders weren't cooked all the way through. The waitress didn't even ask if everything was okay when she took away Jerry's full plate. This upset us a little, but, it was really busy and we figure we will give it another go when we are back up there in February.
When we finished, we went to DQ to get Jerry an ice cream. We then went back to the condo to relax in the jacuzzi tub. It was so nice! I need one of those at home! And, just to show our age, we spent the rest of the night watching Love it or List it on HGTV...lol. It was nice to be able to just relax and watch TV in peace. It's the little things!
We woke up Sunday morning to clouds and rain. We eventually saw this:
I could get used to this view every day! We packed up, returned the condo keys and went to breakfast at Glen Junction. We had never been here before either. Breakfast was delicious and service was friendly and quick! It was at this time we realized our wieekend was over and we needed to head home. Along the way we spotted this:
I could resist photographing this little spot! The rest of the ride was pretty uneventful, but, we had a fabulous time! Can't wait to do it again!
