We Survived Sandy!

The monster storm of the century arrived yesterday and we came away unscathed, amazing! In the morning before it got too bad and before they closed the hurricane gates, we went for a ride.  We went down to Jones Beach in Dartmouth to see what the ocean was doing.  Little did we know that a few hours later, Jones Beach would be completely under water!

The surf was relatively calm at this point.  The wind was pretty bad, the seagulls had no idea what to do!

We had the lights flicker a few times and the power shut of for a quick second twice, otherwise we maintained power throughout the ordeal.  The winds were pretty scary at times.  The next-door neighbor lost two trees.  One fell in his yard, the other completely blocked the road.  Here are a few pictures:

By nightfall the town had come and removed it from the road.

We were however prepared for the worst.  Gallons of gas at the ready, generator prepped and food stocked.  We never used any of it, but, there's always the winter time!
